India will continue to be the fastest-growing major economy, but its growth rate will slow to an average of 6.7% annually from fiscal year 2025 to 2027, according to the World Bank’s June Global Economic Outlook report. The World Bank has raised India’s growth forecast to 6.6% for FY25 and 6.7% for FY26, slightly higher than its January projections. However, these figures are below the Reserve Bank of India’s recent 7.2% forecast. The report also notes that global growth is expected to stabilize at 2.6% this year, despite geopolitical tensions and high interest rates. In South Asia, growth is projected to slow to 6.2% in 2024 and remain steady through 2025-26, primarily due to India’s stable growth.
