Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh announced the grant of “Mini RATNA” status (Category-1) to Central Electronics Limited (CEL) during its Golden Jubilee celebration at the Ghaziabad campus.

Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology, Earth Sciences, and various other portfolios, congratulated CEL on completing 50 years of service to the nation. The Golden Jubilee celebration, held on June 26th, was graced by the Hon’ble Vice President of India, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar.

In his address, Dr. Singh expressed pride in the presence of the Vice President, whose guidance and motivation inspire further contributions to the nation’s progress. He remarked, “50 years of dedication, perseverance, and success is a testament to the hard work, commitment, and vision which propelled this journey of excellence.”

Dr. Singh highlighted CEL’s remarkable performance over the last few years, especially the last five. CEL has achieved new heights in financial stability, profitability, and operational excellence. Its impressive figures in turnover, net worth, reserves, and net profit reflect its growth trajectory.

The Minister shared that CEL has transformed from a loss-making PSU to a dividend-paying PSU, marking the third consecutive year of dividend payments to the Government of India. He noted that celebrating 50 years with a net profit of approximately Rs 58 crore is commendable.

Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Amrit Kaal, Dr. Singh emphasized the aim to increase indigenization of technology and boost manufacturing through capacity building and skill development. He praised CEL’s contributions in defense, railway, security, surveillance, and solar energy, highlighting its vital role in promoting indigenous technologies and manufacturing capabilities. He also mentioned the production of Smart Boards, which will diversify CEL’s product portfolio and significantly impact the implementation of smart education in schools across the country.

Dr. Singh expressed satisfaction with the new initiatives taken by the CEL Management to strengthen employee engagement, leading to outstanding performance in recent years and an all-time high achievement in the last financial year. He affirmed that Central Electronics Limited has met the performance parameters required for the grant of Mini RATNA (Category-1) status.

The celebration was attended by Shri Sunil Kumar Sharma, Cabinet Minister of Uttar Pradesh; Dr. N. Kalaiselvi, DG, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR); Shri. Chetan Jain, Chairman and Managing Director, CEL; along with senior officials of the Government of India.
