One was against him personally, and the other targeted his government. Yousaf has also stepped down from his position as the leader of the Scottish National Party (SNP).
  • Criticism of Yousaf’s leadership intensified following the collapse of the SNP’s coalition with the Scottish Greens, prompting opposition parties to initiate two motions of no confidence this weekend.
  • In 2023, the SNP encountered various challenges, including a funding scandal and the departure of former leader Nicola Sturgeon.
  • The Scottish Parliament has 28 days to nominate a replacement for Yousaf, or else an election will be called.
  • Starting April 29, Tamil Nadu Government will conduct a comprehensive survey of the Nilgiri Tahr to lift its endangered status. This three-day effort aims to count the population of Tahrs, which historically lived across Anamalai and Nilgiri regions. Recognized as endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and protected under Schedule I of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972, the Nilgiri Tahr faces conservation challenges.
  • According to a 2015 report by World Wildlife Fund India, approximately 3,000 Tahrs inhabit the Western Ghats, with a significant number residing in Anamalai Tiger Reserve (ATR). In 2020, the Nature Conservation Foundation identified around 510 individuals in ATR, making it the second largest population after Eravikulam National Park in Kerala.
  • To facilitate the survey, Tamil Nadu’s habitats are segmented into 13 forest divisions, 100 forest beats, and 140 potential blocks. Notably, the Nilgiri Tahr holds the distinction of being Tamil Nadu’s state animal.

Jamie Scott, who received the vaccine in April 2021, claims he suffered a blood clot that left him unable to work. Thrombosis with Thrombocytopenia Syndrome (TTS), also known as vaccine-induced immune thrombotic thrombocytopenia (VITT), is an extremely rare condition characterized by blood clot formation and low platelet counts.
