- Ramoji Rao’s Eenadu newspaper played a key role in garnering support for Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR) when he founded the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in 1982 to oppose the Congress.
- Rao also backed Naidu when he opposed his father-in-law, NTR, in 1995, causing a major political shift in Andhra politics.
- Under Ramoji’s leadership, Eenadu became a powerful presence in Telugu media.
- Besides the world-renowned Ramoji Film City, Rao’s media empire includes the Telugu daily Eenadu newspaper, the ETV network of channels, and film production.
- In 2016, he received the Padma Vibhushan, India’s second-highest civilian award.
- The meeting took place from June 4 to 7, 2024, at the Manekshaw Centre in New Delhi.
A 29-member US delegation, led by Mr. Paul Nicholson, Executive Director of US INDOPACOM, and a 38-member Indian delegation, led by Brigadier Rahul Anand from the Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff, attended the meeting. - The CCCB, a Technical Expert Group formed under Article XI of the Communications Compatibility and Security Agreement (COMCASA) between India and the US, meets twice a year.
- This was the seventh meeting to assess, strengthen, and advance the defense partnership between the two countries since the agreement was signed in September 2018.
- During the four-day event, experts from both sides had detailed discussions to understand interoperability scenarios and communication needs.
- The discussions with the US delegation helped find mutually agreed solutions for the current communication interoperability needs of the Indian tri-services.
