Amir Tamim names Sheikh Mohammed as Qatar’s new prime minister

Qatar’s Amir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, named Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani as the new prime minister, replacing former Prime Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani. Sheikh Mohammed, who previously served as deputy prime minister, took over the role after Sheikh Khalid resigned. Sheikh Khalid had been appointed as Qatar’s prime minister and minister of interior in January 2020.

Manik Saha becomes the 13th Chief Minister of Tripura after taking the oath of office

Manik Saha was sworn in as Tripura’s 13th Chief Minister for the second time after the BJP won in the February 16 Assembly elections. Eight other ministers also took the oath. Governor Satyadeo Narayan Arya administered the oath to Mr. Saha and the other ministers in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Union Home Minister Amit Shah met with TIPRA Motha chief Pradyot Bikram Manikya Debbarma and 13 MLAs from his party. Four of the new ministers served in the previous government. The Council of Ministers in the 60-member House can have up to 12 members.

Conrad Sangma has been inaugurated as the Chief Minister of Meghalaya for a second time

RBI reports a 50% surge in daily UPI transactions, reaching 36 crore

RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das mentioned that payments via UPI have surged significantly over the last year. Daily transactions have reached 36 crore, a 50% increase from 24 crore in February 2022. In terms of value, these transactions amount to Rs 6.27 lakh crore, up by 17% from Rs 5.36 lakh crore in February 2022.
