  • The aim is to encourage young people in the state to start their own businesses. Every year, the program plans to help 100,000 young entrepreneurs by offering interest-free loans of up to Rs 5 lakh each. The government has set aside Rs 1,000 crore in the 2024-25 budget to support this effort. This scheme is designed to empower educated and skilled youth statewide, create self-employment opportunities, and encourage the formation of new small businesses. It offers interest-free loans to projects in industry and services. The objective is to assist one million units (10 lakh units) directly by financing 100,000 units annually for the next decade. Upon successful repayment of the initial loan, businesses can qualify for a second round of funding, with loans potentially doubling the original amount or reaching up to Rs 7.50 lakh.
  • Riken Yamamoto won the Pritzker Prize on March 5, often called the “Nobel Prize of Architecture”. Japan has won this award the most in its 45-year history. Yamamoto is famous for creative housing and education projects, earning $100,000 and a bronze medal. In 2023, David Chipperfield received the prize, while Philip Johnson won the inaugural Pritzker Prize in 1979.
  • The Mahtari Vandana Yojana is a financial support program for married women in Chhattisgarh, providing ₹1,000 per month. The first installment of ₹655 crore has been transferred. Eligible women over 21 as of January 1, 2024, including widows, divorced, and deserted women, will benefit. Around 70 lakh women will benefit from the scheme. PM Modi thanked women across locations for their contribution. Women hold 50% of Jan Dhan accounts and have availed 65% of Mudra loans.
  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened the Sela Tunnel, the world’s longest two-lane tunnel, in Arunachal Pradesh. Situated at 13,000 feet, it ensures constant access to Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh, throughout the year. Constructed at a cost of 825 crore, it consists of two tunnels and a connecting road. The foundation stone was laid by the Prime Minister in 2019. This tunnel, located on the Tezpur-Tawang route, is the highest in India and offers year-round connectivity to strategic areas like Tawang and the neighboring regions near China.
