  • Over a decade, imports rose by over 20%, averaging a 7% yearly increase (from 54.3 million tonnes in FY23).

Outward foreign direct investment (FDI) totaled $46.96 billion in the year ending March 2023. Of the total overseas investment, $9.62 billion was through equity, contributing about 34% of the financial commitment in FY2024. Loan commitments decreased to $5.24 billion from $7.73 billion in FY2024. Indian companies issued overseas guarantees worth $14 billion, down from $20.09 billion in FY2023. The peak outward FDI in FY2024 was observed in March.
  • National Civil Service Day is celebrated annually on April 21 to honor the dedicated work of civil servants across departments and organizations, ensuring efficient administrative operations.
