Kaiserganj MP Chairs Disha Meeting to Address Electricity Shortage and Stray Cattle Issue
A meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (Disha) was held at the District Panchayat Auditorium last Wednesday. Kaiserganj MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh chaired the meeting. The main topics discussed were the shortage of electricity and the issue of stray cattle.
The MP criticized the officers for not effectively implementing beneficiary schemes and expressed dissatisfaction with incomplete development projects. He highlighted that deserving individuals were not receiving their pensions and were facing difficulties in accessing them. The District Magistrate assured the MP that action would be taken against negligent officers.
During the meeting, a review of developmental and welfare schemes by both the Central and State Governments was conducted. MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh emphasized the need for faster implementation of development programs and ensuring that government schemes reach the people effectively. Several members raised concerns about inadequate electricity supply and unannounced power cuts. The MP requested clarification from the Executive Engineer of the Electricity Department and instructed to improve the system.
The MP also instructed district administration officers to address the issue of stray cattle and remove barbed wires from roadsides and roundabouts. Regarding road construction, he highlighted the absence of standard boards, leading to encroachments hindering traffic flow. He directed for the installation of standard boards to ensure proper road usage.
District Magistrate Neha Sharma assured that the MP’s instructions would be followed. Departmental officers were urged to expedite development projects and collaborate effectively to ensure timely completion.
Present at the meeting were District Panchayat President Ghanshyam Mishra, MLAs Katra Bazar Bawan Singh, Gaura Prabhat Verma, Colonelganj Ajay Singh, Tarabganj Prem Narayan Pandey, MLC Manju Singh, representatives from Mankapur MLA, Superintendent of Police Vineet Jaiswal, Chief Development Officer M Arunmouli, Deputy District Magistrates, and other departmental officers.

During Disha’s meeting, MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh mentioned that boards displaying the government’s development plans are set up along the district roads. These boards feature photos of the Prime Minister and Chief Minister. Singh expressed his dissatisfaction because during the assembly elections, these boards were defaced. They haven’t been cleaned yet, which he finds inappropriate. He suggested covering them with paper until they can be properly cleaned and instructed for immediate cleaning.
