Nithin Kamath, Zerodha’s founder, shared on social media on Monday that he experienced a “mild stroke” about six weeks ago. Although he didn’t specify the cause, he hinted that several factors may have played a part.

Kamath noticed his face drooping and has struggled with reading and writing since. He expects to fully recover in 3-6 months. He mentioned factors like the recent loss of his father, disrupted sleep, exhaustion, dehydration, and intense exercise might have contributed to his health issue.

He explained, “I’ve improved from a significant face droop and difficulty reading/writing to a minor droop and better cognitive function. It’ll take 3 to 6 months to fully recover.”

Kamath, known for promoting fitness, admitted the stroke led him to reconsider his habits. He said, “I questioned how someone fit could be affected. The doctor advised me to pace myself. I’m a bit shaken, but still keeping up with my treadmill routine.”
